Chaos erupted after the nuclear collapse of the United States of North America. With the government's concern focused more on political power and pride, humanity begins to fall. Crime, violence, and death linger on the footprints left by the government. Rising from the ashes, a collective known as REAPER seeks to rectify this horror.

REAPERs are psychologically and physically trained individuals who are privately commissioned by the government to undergo black operations, assassination being their specialty.

Hahahahahahah. Yeah, that's right, I stole their suit designs after watching Tron: Legacy. XD

The REAPER concept was something I had to create to explain the creation of the Silhouettes' suits (if not all of the suits in Black Silhouette) and bridges the relationship between Anthony and Kara. Moreover, the role of the REAPER plays a pivotal role in Anthony's back story.

I always had this idea of a sleek, more primitive version of the Silhouette armor, with the characters looking more like foot soldiers. I was going back and forth between helmet designs. I ultimately just wanted a blank, full helmet with little to no designs on it. Every time I drew it out though, it always looked stupid, until I saw Tron. I then realized that the helmet designs could actually work. So I went back and dug up my old sketches and brought back the design. The lights on the helmet pay homage to my new computer that I built (or rather, gave up building lol). Here's a link if you guys so care:

Their sleek black visor can turn translucent, revealing the user's face, and it can also "peel out" (though, I haven't figured out the science for this yet). There's little nozzle things on their necks and upper arms, as well as throughout their body. I'm thinking they're for injecting drugs and supplements or something. I don't know, it just looks cool.

The quote above about the REAPERs always working in pairs is important. Though, I'm not going to spoil anything beyond that.

You'll also notice that REAPERs carry dual blades on their backs. It's kinda like this and this!

Don't ask me what REAPER stands for. I haven't figured it out yet. XD

By the way, I did all of the work using Illustrator, so they're all vectors with gradients. This is my first time using gradients this extensively. Hopefully it still looks fairly realistic for a shiny suit. I'm thinking this will be the quality of the actual animations when they're done in Flash. Post production, of course, was done in Photoshop.
